Christmas Spirit

Christmas is one of those days
That comes every year
A few days before everyone says,
Once again, "Happy new year"

For all about, here and there
The city with light fills
And in the hearts everywhere
Christmas cheer thrills

The season's spirit, what it is:
a thank you time, and I've been good
Some music, some wine, a mistletoe kiss
A lit up tree , and some good food

And for some parties roar
Where dance them all joyous as ever
For others Christmas is a bore
They stay at home and think they're clever

But somewhere in this joyful, happy world
Somewhere oh-so-far away
Some in cold and hunger lie up curled
Not knowing what is Christmas day

Where is the Christmas joy and cheer?
Where has today this world us led?
When today, on Christmas, there falls a tear,
I know that Christmas spirit is dead.
