The Magic of the Night

There is a certain beauty about waking up
A moment of annoyance of the end of your sleep.
Of knowing a time of coffee in a cup
Challenging the need, for your eyes closed, to keep.

It can start with nature- a facial of sunlight
Or with the perils of a partner making noise
The sunlight is more preferred- natural and bright
To the morning sounds made by boys

Or an artificial sound- like a preset alarm clock
That was set last night to wake you now
changing to a rancid melody from a mere "tick-tock"
And without it, many feel lost somehow.

Whatever the reason, one's sleep must end
and one must arise and start a new day
For sleep is indeed a message that nature does send
That without it ceasing, death has come your way.
